THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SELF-ASSESSMENT IN EFL STUDENT’S SPEAKING PERFORMANCE

چکیده

A lot of EFL students feel unconfident in performing their English-speaking performance and do not have a decent engagement self-reflection speaking development. Self-assessment is one the assessment techniques that requires students’ participation its process. The study was conducted to explore whether implementation self-assessment results significant difference performance. researcher quantitative with Posttest-Only Control Design. 34 first-year became participants this study. Seventeen took part an experimental group other seventeen control group, English department at university Surabaya, Indonesia. analyzed data using Independent Samples t-test. findings t-test indicate there after implementing self-assessment. Thus, teachers are recommended promote use facilitating performance
